I am smiling as I remember our amazing family vacation in Maui. We kept saying that it was the best family vacation that we have ever been on together. I am so thankful that we got to spend 12 days soaking up the sunshine and swimming each day in the Pacific Ocean.
We enjoyed spending time with Papa and Uncle Jeff. We got to go on a snorkeling charter to the Molokini Crater and to Turtle Town. We loved swimming with all of the beautiful fish and sea turtles!! We ate a delicious barbecue lunch and the kids had fun sliding off of a slide on the boat into the ocean. Papa drove with us to Haleakala National Park to see the volcano. It was 10,023 feet in elevation and with the clouds, it felt like we were on top of the world! It was much cooler up there and we were thankful that we had brought our coats.
We drove the road to Hana and it was beautiful. The highlights were hiking in rain forests, swimming in a waterfall, and taking in the gorgeous views in the park named the Garden of Eden. We accidentally took the wrong road back and it was pretty scary driving on a gravel road along the coast! I told the kids to pray that we would make it back safely and thankfully we did! We visited the blowhole on the northwest side of the island and that was awesome to see! We went to a luau one of the evenings. The sunset, food, fire dancers, and hula dancers were amazing!
We spent many days snorkeling at Ulua Beach in the morning, going back to our condo for lunch, swimming in the pool, grabbing dinner somewhere, and then we would walk to the beach to swim in the ocean again at sunset. It was delightful! We made many wonderful memories as a family!
