We moved into our new home on November 30th! It was a busy day with closing on our old house, then closing on our new house, and then moving into our new house! We love it here! I need to write about the whole God story of how He brought us to this house.
For the past few years Brian and I were feeling that we were starting to out grow our backyard. We loved having a fenced in back yard during the little years for our kids, yet we knew that our kids would love to have more land to explore. We also felt that we would love to have more privacy and a view in our backyard. We started the process of looking this past March and looked off and on over the summer. We did not find anything that we really loved. We surrendered the search to God this fall and we said God we want You to bring us the right house.
On October 12th Brian got an email about a new house going on the market in Ham Lake. We found out it was right next to our good friends Erik and Angela Wellman! When we had been over at their house in the past, I said if that house ever goes on the market, I would buy that one because of the privacy and land. We were able to view the house that afternoon. I called my parents to see if they could come view the house and they could. It was a Thursday and my Dad had the day off of work. My parents told me that years ago this was the only other house they had put an offer on when they were searching for houses!
We looked at the house and felt this was the right one for us. It is on 3 acres of private land. It has woods to hike in and two ponds. In addition, it is on a cul-de-sac, which is a safe place of our kids to ride their bikes. Our friends Erik and Angela were excited too! We also realized this would make us only about 5 minutes from my parents house. We found out that there was another offer on the house that was higher than our offer. However, the sellers decided that if we matched their offer, which was not much higher than ours, that they would give the house to us! Brian wrote them a letter saying that we are good friends with the neighbors and that we would love to live in this neighborhood. They went with us instead because they knew that we are good friends with the neighbors.
We then needed to sell our house quick. Our house was not on the market long before we were able to sell it and close on the same date as our new house! There are so many blessings in this whole process. We feel that this house and land is a gift from God! After we surrendered the house search, He did the work for us and worked it all out for our benefit. Thank you God!
The view of the house from the front yard and from the back yard. We also have a beautiful side land with a playset that the sellers left for us and a large sandbox.
So these pictures were from Thanksgiving! We were so busy packing at the time, I forgot to post them until now.
We had a delightful Thanksgiving at my parents house and played many games together!
I love this picture! Right after we moved in, my friend and now neighbor Angela brought over dinner for us and a house warming gift. Her kids loved climbing up on the boys new bunk beds! So cute!
The boys love playing outside in our woods! We have been on many walks together. They have built a fort on one of the frozen ponds with sticks. They played outside with Brian the other day and with Papa yesterday for many hours.
Nana and Aunt Karen came over yesterday to make gingerbread boys with us!
Greta looked pretty wearing a dress to church this morning that my sisters and I wore when we were little.
The other day I took the boys on a date for lunch at Chick-fil-A and to see the movie The Star in the theatre. We loved the movie!
I love the expression of Christmas tree wonder on Greta's face.
This past Friday Greta and I went to our first Christmas Tea at my friend Heather's house. We had a lovely time!
This is our living room!
