Asa Turns 3!

Happy birthday to our Asa! You are 3! Asa is kind, imaginative, funny, energetic, and adventurous! Asa is always singing songs that he knows and some that he makes up on the spot. He is creative and it is fun to watch him play. Asa plays well with Eli and Greta. Asa loves to draw and work on art projects. He also loves to jump and do somersaults. He enjoys going to Kids Church on Sunday mornings. We are so happy God blessed us with you for a son. We love you!

We took Asa in for his 3 year old well child doctor visit. He weighs 28 pounds, which puts him in the 13th percentile. He is 36 inches tall, which puts him in the 15th percentile. He is a healthy boy!

Busy Week

I have been busy these past two weeks taking Eli to swim lessons Monday through Thursday. I usually take Asa with me and Greta stays home with Brian to nap while he works. Eli, Asa, and I pack a lunch and stay for open swim after he is done with lessons. Eli was so proud that he passed his first swim class! He did a great job. Eli loved his swim teacher.

Last night Brian and I took Eli to his Pre-K open house at Legacy Christian Academy. He got to meet his teacher Miss Byron, meet some of his classmates, see his classroom, and we got to eat dinner at the school. He said he is excited to start school next week on Tuesday. He will be going on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am to 2:10pm. Eli will get to take a music class and an art class during his school days.

Earlier this week Eli got a letter from his teacher and a picture of his teacher in the mail. After awhile, I was wondering where Eli went. I went upstairs to find him in his room just staring at the picture of his teacher and her letter. He is looking forward to school!

I don't even know what to say. Brian bought a giant stuffed bear for our son Asa's upcoming birthday party. Oh I'm sure Asa will love it but do I really want another giant stuffed animal in my house? We already have a giant dog Brian gave to Eli years ago. Oh well. They will both be staying in the playroom in the basement! The funniest part is he's been driving around with it in the passenger seat all week! That is his way of hiding it from Asa.

Asa and Greta play well together

Asa got his birthday card and check in the mail today from Great Nana! He is excited for his birthday. Tomorrow on his birthday we are planning on going out for breakfast as a family. Daddy is photographing a wedding tomorrow, so we will be having Asa's birthday party on Sunday afternoon with both sides of the family. We are looking forward to celebrating Asa turning 3!

Greta crawling all over the house.

My friend Angela gave me this craft idea for the boys to do in honor of the Olympics. They loved it!

One day at the end of swim lessons they joined with other groups to do a big circle of motor boat, motor boat.

Sweet kids

Walking with their teacher on the last day. They got to wear life jackets and jump in the deep in!
I thought they looked like a mother duck and her ducklings as they walked and swam together.

He passed!

Cousin Fun!

Yesterday we met up with Becky and Alison and their kids at a fun park that had a splash pad fountain to play in. The kids had fun playing together and it was great for me to spend some time with my cousins.

The second cousins stair step. Cute kids!

I do not know what Jack was doing in this picture.

It was a beautiful afternoon and great to be together!

Mid August

Last night I was reading Eli the book "The Kissing Hand" before putting him to bed. It is the sweet story of a mama raccoon sending her son to school for the first time and letting him know that he can take her love with him wherever he goes. Eli starts PreK on the 23rd of this month and I want him to be ready. Ok I'll be honest, the book was more for me than him.

After I finished reading I asked him how he would like me to say goodbye when I drop him off at school. I said," Eli would you like me to give you a hug, say I love you, or give you the sign language sign for I love you?" Eli said in his serious voice, "Mom just throw me into school!"I started laughing  hysterically. Eli thought about how ridiculous that would look and started laughing hysterically with me. I asked him, "Eli what would your teacher think if I threw you through the door into school?" More hysterical laughter. Eli is a funny kid.

You know you have been with someone a long time when you start coloring coordinating without meaning too. The other day I came downstairs and realized Brian and I were matching!

Eli did awesome this first week of swimming lessons. He has another week of swimming lessons this week.

Last Thursday I took Karen out to Mongolia Barbecue for her birthday. We had a great time and the food was tasty!

Yesterday I got the courage up to take all three kids on a walk to the park by myself. They did good!

Greta loves macaroni and cheese! Asa is almost 3 and I still have not gotten him to even try it.

Oh they are cute kids.

I love her smile.

Early August

We have continued to enjoy summer and the beautiful weather we have been having. Two weekends ago we went to visit Grandpa and Grandma Bossany and Uncle Jason. Grandpa took us out in the boat for a ride and to go fishing. The boys had a great time and caught many fish.

Greta is thrilled that now she can pull herself up.

Last weekend we had a fun time at Papa and Nana's house. The boys enjoyed riding in the canoe with Papa and Daddy. They caught many turtles and frogs. They even caught a gardner snake!

Asa was proud of the tall Lincoln Log tower he built with Daddy.

Auntie Karen took these awesome pictures of Greta enjoying her pickle.

Eli has said some really funny statements lately. Yesterday he said to Papa, "Papa you will take me on the canoe because you love me." Papa smiled and of course took him on the canoe.

The other night I was putting Eli to bed and I told him that I already put Asa and Greta to bed, so now I can read to him. He said, " Oh good now I get you all to myself."

As Eli was laying down he asked me when he will grow up to be big like me. I told him that I hope not for a long time, I want him to enjoy being a kid. He said seriously, "When I am big then I can reach and get the sharp scissors." I laughed. He said it so wistfully like that would be when he arrived in life.

Eli is very extroverted. The other day a UPS man came to our house to drop off a package. Eli ran up to him and said, "You know what? A dentist pulled out my tooth!" I think the man was a bit taken aback, but smiled at Eli. Then today, Eli yelled over the fence to our neighbor that today was the first day he started swim lessons. He is outgoing!

This is how excited Eli is every time he catches some critter.

Greta is crawling everywhere!

Heading to the pool!

Greta LOVED sweet potatoes

Asa was so happy to be reunited with all of his Tiggers when we got back from our California trip.

I am so thankful for my friends Angela and Anna. We get together often to hang out and pray together. I am thankful that all of our husbands are good friends too. We met them the first day we started going to Substance Church almost 4 years ago. We have gotten close over the years.

Their nightly wrestling match with Daddy. Even Greta got in on the action!

Pretty baby

Eli had his first day of swimming lessons today! He did great! He was in a class with three other boys.

Three kids in a bath!

Eli knocked his tooth out at the end of our California trip. It is all healed now and I think he looks pretty cute.

More pictures from the fishing trip.

Earlier this summer our good friends Shane and Anna long invited us and a bunch of other photographer friends over for a bonfire. It was a fun night with many laughs!!
