We had a fun filled weekend celebrating the 4th of July! We made the kids a special 4th of July colored breakfast and took them to the Ham Lake Freedom Festival. Some friends from co-op had a blacksmithing station set up and it was fun to see them working in action. The kids enjoyed food and live music. Karen joined us for fireworks and it was an amazing show! The next two days we spent on the lakes swimming, boating, and fishing. Papa joined us for a 4th of July barbecue on the 4th for dinner.
The boys caught some big fish!!
Drew and Bekah were in town visiting their families and they stopped by our house for a visit. They are dear friends from camp many years ago. They live in South Carolina now and it was wonderful to catch up and meet each other's kids.
A little over a week ago Asa got to spend the night at Papa's house. He had so much fun! They went on bike rides, out to dinner at Key's Cafe, had a bonfire, and watched some movies together. Asa told me, "Mom want to know my most favorite thing that I did this month? It was staying the night at Papa's."
So sweet!
