Winter Fun

Now that the temperatures have been in the 30s we have been enjoying winter time in our backyard. We got a large snowfall early this week and the snow has been perfect for us to get out and enjoy as a family. We have enjoyed shoe shoeing in our woods, sledding down our hill and at the park hill down the street, playing on our playground, and building snow forts with Dad.

The other day Brian was out shopping with Asa. Asa told Brian that he thought they should buy some flowers for Mom. He picked out these bright ones for me and he was so excited to surprise me with them! They really brighten up our home. I love that Asa is such a thoughtful boy.

Eli and Asa out building their snow fort with Dad.

Eli and his friends at school playing a learning game with their third grade buddies.

The biggest snow fort they have ever made! They named it Fort Awesome.

Brian and I enjoyed a lunch date to T-Box, one of our favorite restaurants in the area.

Snow shoeing as a family in our back woods!

Greta picked out her clothes! She loves pink and all things girly!

This afternoon Greta got up from her nap early. I went into her room and she wanted me to hold her. She went back to sleep as I was rocking her for another half hour. I had plans to get caught up on laundry this afternoon. As I was rocking her, I realized that I need to slow down and enjoy these moments because they do not last forever. I cannot believe how fast my kids are growing, I want to cherish every moment.

Mid January

Eli's teacher sent over some more pictures of Eli and his classmates at school. I am glad he is loving kindergarten!

Eli is learning to ice skate during gym class at school! I volunteered at his school today and helped the students get their skates on and off for gym. It was fun to watch him skate around with his classmates.

The kids love our new bathtub!

Playing in the backyard with the neighbor friends. I love Asa throwing the snowball!

Greta and Asa having fun dressing up.

Brian and I loving the pretty snowfall in our backyard. We have taken the kids sledding a few times now and they love it!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We have had a great week kicking off 2018 with a great start! On New Years Eve we went over to our neighbors and dear friends Erik and Angela's house to celebrate. Our good friends Shane and Anna Long also came to celebrate. We had 12 of kids total between us and they all had a blast together! We ate good food and played some fun minute to win it games with the kids.

We are thankful for family and dear friends. It was a great time to celebrate 2017 and kick off 2018! My parents came over at 8pm so that we could bring the kids home for bed and then we were able to go back and have some adult time conversation.

The kids loved blowing in the New Year!

Sweet Greta

Good morning!

We have been undergoing some bathroom remodels. The downstairs shower is done! What a difference! The upstairs bathroom will be done next week!

We love our fires in our back woods!

This past Tuesday we took the boys to the Science Museum for the first time! They loved it!

Here they are telling the forecast =)

On Thursday it was the perfect day to go to the Mall of America. We took the family to the Sea Life Aquarium, had lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe, played at Legoland, and finished off with a Carousel ride.

Jellyfish!

Asa is always moving, hence why he is a bit blurry in this picture.

Stingrays.

Greta loves it when I paint her nails!

Yesterday we checked out the Ham Lake library for the first time. It is only about 5 minutes from us.

Eli and Asa love playing with the big Nerf guns they got for Christmas.

Bless Asa, sometimes he will play house with Greta. She loves to pretend that he is her baby. =)

Story time is the best time.

Andrew and Diem came to visit this week, what a fun time!

Neighbor Hans plays well with my boys.

Happy Asa!

Joyful Eli!

Lately Greta's favorite thing to do is to sit and play with her pretend coffee set from Papa and Nana. She loves it when I sit at her table with her and she makes me some coffee.
