Memorial Day

We got together with my family to celebrate memorial day at Lions Coon Creek Park in Coon Rapids. Eli used a sippy cup for the first time to drink some water on the hot day. We had a wonderful time grilling out together and playing some beach volleyball! I was not able to play volleyball last summer because I was  pregnant, so it felt great to be able to play again with the family!

David thought we should get a family picture like families took in the olden days where everyone was so serious. 

At the last second Brian threw me over his shoulders for this picture. Everyone was surprised, it turned out to be a fun photo!

First Trip to Duluth

Eli had a delightful first trip to Duluth with us. We headed to Duluth for Asa and Jenna's wedding. Brian photographed the wedding while I enjoyed introducing Eli to our friends in Duluth at the wedding. We were blessed with beautiful warm weather and Eli loved playing with the rocks by Lake Superior. Eli and I enjoyed an eight mile stroller ride along the lake walk and he loved splashing in the hotel pool!

Dad's Secret Post

My First Mother's Day

I had a special first Mother's Day today. I woke up to some lovely flowers, a card, and a large bag of peanut M&Ms (my favorite) from Brian and Eli. We went to church and out to lunch. That afternoon Brian gave me a much needed back massage and I played outside in the sunshine with Eli. Karen, Kristi, and I took Mom out for pedicures. We had a fun time and choose some bright colors for our toes! My family also gave me a first time mother's day card which was really sweet and I plan to put it in Eli's baby book.

Eli is happiest outside, so we try and take him out for stroller rides and walks everyday. It was a bit cooler a few days this week so we bundled him up in this cute bear outfit.
