April 2013

Yesterday Auntie Karen and her friend Heather came over to babysit so that Brian and I could go out to have a date day to celebrate his birthday early. We had a great time! We went out to lunch at Yum, a restaurant in St. Louis Park, we did some shopping, played two games of Cribbage at a coffee shop, and then went out to dinner at Sawatdee, which is a delicious Thai restaurant. Brian's family is coming over this afternoon for a barbecue and cake to celebrate his birthday. We are going to have a Hobbit Party the end of May to celebrate Brian's 30th birthday with friends. We wanted to wait until it gets warmer out because we want to have a backyard party. We are excited!

All ready for our date!

First Pictures of Baby # 2!

We had another ultrasound today because the last time that we went in the baby was laying in a way so that the doctor could not see the whole heart and could not see the face. He cooperated better today! His heart looks perfectly healthy and we were able to get some great pictures of his cute little face.

We brought Eli along to see his baby brother. Eli got really nervous when I laid down to have the exam of my belly. He kept saying nervously "Mama, Mama" I told him that I was just fine. He did calm down after awhile. It was so fun to see our new little baby!

My Doggie and I

Yesterday on my way home from a work meeting, Brian called and said that he and Eli were making a quick Costco run. He said that he could not resist getting Eli a stuffed animal while they were there. I asked him if it was big and he said I would have to see. I knew it was big, but I never thought it would be this big!! Eli does love it a lot and calls him his "Woof, Woof". He has the biggest smile when he hugs him and wrestles him to the ground. I told Brian that this is the last stuffed animal to get Eli because he has so many. He agreed. Brian stated that we have decided to not get a dog for awhile so this would be the next best thing. I must say he might be right, the stuffed dog even sheds! It is fun to see how much Eli loves playing with the dog!

What a handsome almost 18 month boy!

Baby # 2 is a BOY!

We had our 20 week ultrasound this afternoon and we found out that we are having another boy! We are so excited for Eli to have a buddy! They will be so close in age and have fun playing together. Everything on the ultrasound looked good and baby looks healthy!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter Celebration for what Jesus did for us. We went to church and then had both sides of the family over for an Easter dinner. Grandpa and Grandma Bossany, Uncle Jason, Grandpa and Grandma Meyer, Auntie Karen, and Auntie Kristi came over to our house Sunday afternoon to celebrate. Eli woke up from his nap and was so happy to see everyone at our house. He was all smiles! We had an Easter Egg hunt for Eli in our living room because it was not warm enough to do one outside. Eli loved the Easter Egg hunt and did a fabulous job finding all of the Easter Eggs. It was so fun to watch! We then had a delicious Easter dinner where everyone contributed. The food was excellent and it was a special time to spend with family.

Eli is 17 Months Old

Eli has now learned how to sign please when he wants something. The words he uses most are mama, dada, go, ball, and thanks. Eli loves to make animals noises. He makes noises for cat, dog, owl, lion, bear, and cow. When we go on walks he gets so excited when we see some dogs.

Brian and I have both taken Eli to Baby Storytime at the library and he just loves it. He does so well listening to the the stories and singing to the songs.

We have been going to Substance Church since the beginning of January. We were going to Mercy Vineyard Church in Minneapolis, but the drive was getting to be too long for us. Now it only takes us 10 minutes to get to church, which is much easier on Eli and both of us. We have really been enjoying Substance. I have been going to a Mom's group since the beginning of January that meets only a mile from my house. Brian has met a fellow wedding photographer and has been getting together with him regularly. We have been getting to know many other couples with young families like our own. Eli has been doing great in the nursery, the church has a wonderful children's program. It has also been a bonus to be going to church with my parents and my sister Karen. They like showing off their grandson to their friends at church!

Eli loves to climb inside of small areas that fit his size

Showing Daddy and Mommy how smart he is by giving us the animals after we say each name

Eli enjoys looking at books so much, he even does it while sitting on his scooter
